A regular open mic session for storytellers
We are part of Broadly Speaking, an open mic for storytellers, held in the bar at The Yarrow Hotel and hosted this season by local writing group IsleWrite. The event is open to anyone who has an original story to tell. The stories can be fictional or non-fictional, and cover any topic or style you wish, but they should be entertaining, enjoyable and short enough to be told within a 10 minute time slot. Please feel free to use notes or even the full text of your story when performing, if that is something that will help (this is not a memory test!).
Broadly Speaking dates for your diary:
September 30, 2018, 7.30pm
October 28, 2018, 7.30pm
November 25 2018, 7.30pm
If you are interested, and want to book a slot, please contact us via the form on the website or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, giving us your name and contact details and a brief summary of the story you want to tell.
In line with the open and inclusive nature of BroadstairsLit events, please mindful of the subject matter of your story. We reserve the right to refuse a story or curtail a performance if we feel the subject matter is unsuitable.
